Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026. Version: v1.

This policy explains how Tack On LLC (“Tack On,” “we”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you use tackon.io, the Tack On app or the Tack On Pro app (the “Service”). We don’t sell personal information for advertising. When you submit a request, we share it with the one Pro who accepts it, and that Pro pays us a fixed lead fee. We do this only at your direction, to provide the service you asked for.

1. What we collect

From everyone

  • Launch list: your email address, optional ZIP code, the trades you chose (pros), and the consent wording you agreed to.
  • Device and usage: pages and screens viewed, app version, device type, and the IP address of your request. For abuse limits we store IP addresses only in a salted, hashed form. When you give a consent (for example, to be contacted by the Pro who accepts your request), we keep the IP address and device with that consent record as proof.
  • Messages with us: what you send to support.
  • Information from the previous Tack On app: if you used the earlier Tack On app, your name, phone, email and trade, used only to invite you to the new service.

Homeowners

  • Name, phone number (confirmed with a one-time code) and email address (required when you request on the website, so we can send you updates).
  • The job address, stored encrypted, and its location on a map.
  • Your job description, photos (we remove photo location data), hazard answers and timing.
  • Messages with the Pro who accepts your request, and records of contact attempts.

Pros and their team members

  • Name, phone, email, business details and role.
  • Identity verification: our verification provider (Stripe) captures a photo of your government ID and a live selfie and compares them. We receive the result, your verified name, an age check, and the document type and expiry. We don’t store the ID images or the selfie ourselves. We also keep a one-way coded value derived from your ID number and issuing state, used only to detect one person running several accounts; it is kept for 2 years after your account closes.
  • Licenses: license numbers and the matching public records from TDLR and TSBPE, and the dates we checked them.
  • Insurance: policy details confirmed through your insurer, agent or a connected insurance service.
  • Payment: your card is held by Stripe. We keep the card brand, last four digits and records of charges and refunds.
  • Location: only while you have switched yourself to Available, and only with your permission, to match you to nearby jobs. You can enter a working location by hand instead.

2. Sensitive information and your consent

Two kinds of information we use are treated as sensitive under Texas law, and we ask for your consent before collecting them: precise location (pros, while Available) and the face comparison used in identity verification, which is a biometric identifier. We ask for the biometric consent on our own screen before verification starts; declining means verification doesn’t start. We ask our provider to delete verification images and biometric data 90 days after verification, when you delete your account, or when you leave a Business, whichever comes first, and in any case within the time Texas law requires.

3. How we use information

  • to run the Service: take requests, match them to eligible Pros, and deliver messages;
  • to verify Pros’ identity, licenses and insurance, and re-check them;
  • to process lead payments and refunds;
  • to prevent fraud and abuse, and to protect homeowners, Pros and the Service;
  • to provide support, handle refund reviews and disputes, and enforce our terms;
  • to send messages you agreed to, such as launch updates, app notifications and email updates about your request;
  • to improve the Service using analytics that don’t include your name, contact details or messages; and
  • to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Who we share it with

  • The one Pro who accepts your request receives your name, phone number, address, job details and photos as soon as their payment for the request goes through (see our Terms). Before acceptance, Pros see only the job type, a rough area, timing, your description and the photos you chose to share. A Pro’s access ends 30 days after the request closes.
  • Homeowners see the accepting Business’s name, license numbers and check dates, and the name and photo of the person coming.
  • Service providers who process data for us under contract: hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel), payments and identity verification (Stripe), one-time verification codes by text (Telnyx), email delivery, maps and address lookup (Google), insurance confirmation services, error monitoring and analytics. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal and protection: when required by law or legal process, or to protect someone’s health or wellbeing, our users or our rights.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under this policy’s protections.

We don’t sell personal information to data brokers or advertisers, and don’t share it for targeted advertising. The only time a Pro pays us in connection with your information is the fixed lead fee for a request you asked us to send. Mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and consent records are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use only the cookies needed for the site to work and to keep you signed in. We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

6. How long we keep it

  • Launch-list emails: until 30 days after the launch notice, or sooner if you unsubscribe or ask.
  • Raw location from the Pro app: up to 24 hours, then deleted or reduced to an area and hour.
  • Request photos: 180 days. Messages: 2 years after the request closes, unless a dispute is open.
  • Account information: while your account is open, then deleted or de-identified within 30 days of a deletion request.
  • Records we must keep: lead purchases, payments, refunds and the related request summary for 7 years (tax, accounting and dispute defense); consent records for 5 years after you withdraw consent; audit and fraud records for up to 7 years. These are kept linked to a de-identified account. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before it is overwritten.

7. Your rights

Texas residents, and others where local law gives these rights, can ask to: confirm whether we process their personal information and access it; correct it; delete it; get a portable copy; and opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling with significant effects (we don’t do these). You can delete your account in the app or on the web. To make a request, email support@tackon.io or use the app. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our decision; we will answer the appeal within 60 days, and if you’re unhappy with the result you may contact the Texas Attorney General. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.

8. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, encrypted job addresses, strict access controls with multi-factor authentication for staff, and audit logs. No system is perfectly secure; please tell us at support@tackon.io if you think your account has been compromised.

9. Children

The Service is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes and contact

We will post changes here with a new effective date and notify you of material changes in the app or by email. Questions: Tack On LLC, support@tackon.io.
