The Texas license behind every HVAC pro
Issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
The company
In Texas, air conditioning and refrigeration work is done under a TDLR A/C Contractor license (Class A or B). Before an HVAC company can take leads on Tack On, we confirm its liability insurance with the insurer or agent, not just an uploaded certificate.
The person who comes out
The technician who comes out is a TDLR Registered or Certified A/C Technician working under that company’s license.
What you will see
When you pick a pro you will see the company, the TDLR licenses we checked (the A/C Contractor license and the technician’s registration), and the date we last checked them.
You can look up any license yourself on the TDLR website. Read more in our guide: When to call an HVAC pro.
If it's an emergency
When requests open, Tack On will ask about hazards like these first. For gas, fire, smoke or live sparking we show safety steps and wait until you confirm everyone is safe before any pro is contacted.
How it will work
1. Describe the job
Tell us what's wrong, add photos, and pick when you need help.2. Nearby pros respond
Your request goes to checked heating & ac pros within 30 miles who are available. Up to three who want the job show their service call fee, and you pick one. No one else is sent your details.3. They contact you
You see who is coming and their license details. You agree the price and timing directly with them.
