What you can request

  • Leaks, burst pipes and running toilets
  • Clogged drains and sewer line problems
  • Water heater repair and replacement
  • Faucets, fixtures, garbage disposals and shut-off valves
  • Gas line work, after any gas smell has been handled by the utility

Septic systems, well pumps and irrigation are not part of the launch. We will say so plainly if your job is outside what we cover.

The Texas license behind every plumber

Issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE).

The company

In Texas, a plumbing company works under a Responsible Master Plumber (RMP), licensed by the TSBPE, who must carry liability insurance on file with the board.

The person who comes out

The plumber who comes out holds their own TSBPE license: Master Plumber, Journeyman Plumber or Tradesman Plumber-Limited.

What you will see

When you pick a pro you will see the company, the TSBPE licenses we checked (the company’s Responsible Master Plumber and the plumber’s own), and the date we last checked them.

You can look up any license yourself on the TSBPE website. Read more in our guide: What a Texas plumbing license means.

If it's an emergency

When requests open, Tack On will ask about hazards like these first. For gas, fire, smoke or live sparking we show safety steps and wait until you confirm everyone is safe before any pro is contacted.

How it will work

  1. 1. Describe the job

Tell us what's wrong, add photos, and pick when you need help.
  2. 2. Nearby pros respond

Your request goes to checked plumbing pros within 30 miles who are available. Up to three who want the job show their service call fee, and you pick one. No one else is sent your details.
  3. 3. They contact you

You see who is coming and their license details. You agree the price and timing directly with them.
