How it works

One request. One pro. No bidding war for your phone number.

Lead sites often sell your details to several contractors at once. Tack On sends each request to a single pro, chosen by who accepts first.

From request to pro

  1. 1. Describe the job

Pick the trade, answer a few questions, add photos and choose when you need help: as soon as possible, later today, or a scheduled time.
  2. 2. Hazard questions first

For gas, smoke, sparking or flooding we show safety steps and 911 or utility numbers before anything else.
  3. 3. Sent to nearby pros at the same time

Your request goes to pros within 30 miles whose licenses we have checked. They see the job and a rough area, not your name, phone or exact address.
  4. 4. The first pro to accept gets it

Only one pro can accept your request. As soon as one does, it is closed to everyone else.
  5. 5. They reach out

You see who is coming, their company and license numbers. They message you in the app or call you.
  6. 6. You decide

Accepting your request is not a booking or a quote. You and the pro agree on the visit, the price and the work directly.

If the pro doesn't get in touch

Pros have a deadline to contact you: minutes for urgent jobs, hours for scheduled ones. If they miss it, or don't show up for an appointment you agreed, you can ask us for a different pro.

Once you are in touch, you are free to choose not to hire them. You can always send a new request.

Who pays

Tack On doesn't charge homeowners to send a request. Pros pay a flat fee for each request they accept. You pay the pro only for the work you agree with them.

Tack On connects you with independent professionals. We are not a contractor and don't perform the work. Here is what we check.
