What you can request

  • Outlets, switches and GFCI protection
  • Tripping breakers and partial power loss
  • Light fixtures, ceiling fans and dimmers
  • Panel repairs and upgrades
  • EV charger and appliance circuits

Downed power lines and meter damage belong to your electric utility, not a contractor. Low-voltage alarm and camera systems are not part of the launch.

The Texas license behind every electrician

Issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

The company

In Texas, a business offering electrical work needs a Texas Electrical Contractor license (TECL) from TDLR.

The person who comes out

The electrician who comes out holds their own TDLR license: Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician or Residential Wireman.

What you will see

When a pro accepts your job you will see the contractor’s TECL number, the electrician’s own license number, and the date we last checked TDLR records.

You can look up any license yourself on the TDLR website. Read more in our guide: How to check an electrician’s license in Texas.

If it's an emergency

When requests open, Tack On will ask about hazards like these first. For gas, fire, smoke or live sparking we show safety steps and wait until you confirm everyone is safe before any pro is contacted.

How it will work

  1. 1. Describe the job

Tell us what's wrong, add photos, and pick when you need help.
  2. 2. One pro accepts

Your request goes to checked electrical pros within 30 miles. The first to accept gets it, and no one else is sent your details.
  3. 3. They contact you

You see who is coming and their license details. You agree the price and timing directly with them.
